DGP Gupta moves CAT

Kochi: Kerala Fire and Rescue Services DGP Yogesh Gupta has moved the CAT accusing the state government of depriving him
the vigilance clearance report sought by the Union Home Ministry for deputation in central services, Manorama reported.
Yogesh moved the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on August 27 blaming state
government for denying him the report
ruining his chances of getting a chance in the central services.
Yogesh told the tribunal that the state government continued to deny the vigilance clearance report.
His petition names the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of Public Administration, along with the state government, as respondents.
Gupta is president of the IPS Association in Kerala.
The Union Home Ministry had first sought details of Gupta’s last ten years of service in April this year, with a directive to make the report available immediately.
Even as the former State Police Chief S Sheikh Darvesh Sahib had submitted a favourable report to the Chief Secretary in May, government did not forward it to the Centre.
The petitioner further stated that his repeated petitions to the state government, including one submitted through the Chief Minister’s Complaint Redressal Portal, were not answered. His request under the Right to Information Act for a copy of the report was also denied.
He has also sought disciplinary action against officials responsible for withholding the report.
