Kochi: Twentythree people were killed in a fire at a nightclub in Goa, media reports said.
Most of the victims were said to be staff at the club in Arpora, North Goa.
Police suspect an explosion of a gas cylinder in the club’s kitchen caused the tragedy at midnight on Saturday, the reports said.
Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant condoled the death.
“The fire occurred around midnight. It has now been brought under control.”
Rescue services were still underway in the early hours of Sunday morning.
