Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed a thorough probe into the larger conspiracy behind the gold scam in Sabarimala temple to spot the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) officials involved, media reports said.
The Devaswom division bench observed that the probe should be done in a fair, transparent and expeditious manner, the reports said.
During the in-camera hearing, the court got feedback about the ongoing probe by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the court after it got reports of missing gold from the hillshrine.
The SIT submitted a report on the probe before the Court. The SIT report stated the TDB officials were aware of the irregularities related to the same and remained silent and concealed the misconduct.
The Court also recorded its appreciation regarding the investigation so far conducted.
However, the Court wanted a thorough investigation into the criminal conspiracy in the well-calculated crime. It laid down various reasons why it was probable that the TDB officials were hand-in-glove with the misappropriation of the gold.
