Kochi: The Kerala High Court granted interim anticipatory bail to former government Chief Whip P C George in an alleged hate speech made at a temple in Vennala a few days back.
The interim bail is valid until next Thursday during which George has been directed by the High Court not to make any public statements.
The High Court said the ruling will not be binding on the case registered in a lower court in Thiruvananthapuram in another alleged hate speech.
George was arrested in the case and released on conditional bail. The police are seeking to cancel the bail accusing George of violating bail conditions.
The lower court is hearing the hate speech and has perused the speech made at Vennala in connection with the Sapthaham festival at Thaikkattu Siva Temple.h
