Kejriwal to continue as CM

Kochi: Arvind Kejriwal of AAP will continue as the Chief Minister as the Delhi High Court on Thursday rejected a PIL seeking his removal following his arrest in a money laundering case, media reports said.
Dismissing the Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the court said the petitioner failed to show any bar in the law which prohibited Kejriwal from remain chief minister. The court did not make any observations on the merits of the issue. The PIL was filed by a social worker Surjit Singh Yadav who said a leader facing allegations should not be permitted to continue in public office. Yadav said Kejriwal’s continuation in the post would lead to obstruction of due process of law and disrupt the course of justice. It would lead to a breakdown of the constitutional machinery in the State. Kejriwal will be produced before the court today as his custody ends today.
