KSRTC staff fired

Kochi: A KSRTC bus driver and conductor of Neyyattinkara-Kannur Superfast bus were terminated for violating rules at 3 pm on June 4.
The Chairman and Managing Director Pramoj Shankar said both the driver and conductor on duty on board the Neyyattinkara-Kannur Superfast service have been terminated, media reports said.
The Department is conducting further investigation into the matter to find out more staff involved in the violation
which is also being probed by the Traffic police and Motor Vehicles Department.
The violation occurred when the KSRTC Superfast bus was moving from Kozhikode towards Ramanattukara when the bus reached the toll plaza in Pantheerankavu in Kozhikode where the bus was detained as the KSRTC fast tag account had zero balance.
This made the bus driver furious following which he reversed the bus menacingly, ignoring the vehicles approaching the toll plaza.
After entering the high-speed lane of the highway, he drove through the middle of the road until people started reacting furiously. Then the driver entered a slow track and travelled three kms until the bus reached a point where the vehicle got stuck due to the narrowness of the road.
