Kochi: The Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA) has by and large welcomed the state budget presented yesterday.State president A Nizaruddin and general secretary P J Jose said the proposals are expected to trigger vigor in the industrial sector.
It was expected that there would be considerable allocation for the MSME sector.The amount earmarked for the sector is less.The government should have given subsidy for the seed money as new ventures are expected to open their operations like last year when the government predicted 1,40,000 new ventures to start functioning in the state.
For this to happen the government should give subsidies on seed capital.The KSSIA welcomed the proposal to welcome private investment in the tourism industry. Allocation of funds to KSIDC would help growth of industries, they said.
