Mud slinging at Cong meeting

Kochi: Former Congress chief in Kerala V M Sudheeran flayed the party, describing its leadership as an utter failure, media reports said.

Leaders are working for their own benefit and there is no consensus or discussion on any matter, he said at the Kerala Pradesh Congress committee meeting. The party, which once had two groups, has split into multiple groups, Sudheeran said, adding that no corrective action was taken on the report submitted by him on the reasons for the party’s failure in the 2016 assembly election.

Sudheerab read out the letter which he had sent as party’s Kerala chief to Sonia Gandhi who was national president then.Selection of the wrong candidate was key to failure in 2016, he said.

Responding to it, KPCC president K Sudhakaran wondered why Sudheeran was worried about the party when he had  announced his retirement from it. After a gap of a long interval, he was attending a meeting, Sudhakaran mocked.Kerala incharge and AICC general secretary Deepa Das Munsh told a press conference that Sudheeran walked out after his turn to speak.

Sudhakaran said that he was going to the US for treatment for15 days on December 31.He said the KPCC office bearers will collectively run the show in his absence.

Sudhakaran said that he will lead a march from Manjeshwar in Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram from January 21 to February 21.Former union ministers Shashi Tharoor, A K Antony were among those present, the reports said.
