Kochi: In a major boost to the BJP, the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Nilackal Diocese Secretary Fr Shyju Kurien joined the saffron party on Saturday.
Forty seven other faithfuls of the church joined the party along with him.
Union Minister V Muralidharan inaugurated a function Christmas Sneha Sangamam organised by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
Metropolitan Kuriakose Mar Clemis and other priests attended.
Rubbishing some parties’ notion that BJP was using Sree Ram temple at Ayodhya to win Lok sabha elections, Muraleedharan said that Modi came to power not on Ayodhya plan.
