NBW against Rahul

Kochi: A Jharkhand Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi of Congress in a defamation case against Union Home Minister Amit Shah, media reports said.
The MP-MLA court in Chaibasa in
Ranchi directed Rahul to appear before the court on June 26 on a
lawsuit initiated by BJP leader Pratap Katiyar on July 9, 2018, in connection with Rahul’s alleged remarks at the plenary session of the Congress in 2018, India Today reported.
Katiyar had lodged a complaint against Rahul on July 9, 2018, at the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Chaibasa.
Rahul was accused of allegedly stating that even a person accused of “murder charges” could potentially become the president of the BJP. Amit Shah was the president of the party then.
The Jharkhand High Court instructed the transfer of the case to the MP-MLA Court in Ranchi in February 2020.
Another defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in a Sultanpur Court in
Uttar Pradesh was adjourned on Saturday due to a lawyers’ workshop last week.
This lawsuit was filed in 2018 by local BJP politician Vijay Mishra, in response to alleged derogatory comments made by Rahul Gandhi against Amit Shah during the Karnataka assembly elections.
