Kochi : Arjuna awardee and former Kerala State Sports Council chief Padmini Thomas of Congress is set to join the BJP on Thursday, media reports said.
Miffed over Congress ignoring her, Padmini is likely to reveal the reason for leaving the party.
Padmini won a Silver medal in the 4 × 100 m relay and a bronze medal in the 400 metres in the 1982 Asian Games. Late Chief Minister K Karunakaran’s daughter Padmaja Venugopal joined the BJP a few days back.
Padmaja, who was Congress’ state unit General Secretary, too had blamed Congress for sidelining her.
