Pak aimed Golden Temple

Kochi: Pakistan’s plans to target Golden Temple in Amritsar were diffused by Indian Army during the intervening night of May 7–8, a top army official said today.
Pakistan used drones and missiles to target the shrine, Major General Kartik C Seshadri, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 15th Infantry Division, said, the Hindustan Times reported.
“The Pakistan Army did not have any legitimate targets other than India’s military installations, civilian targets like religious places,” the daily reported.
The army mobilised an additional modern air defence system to give a holistic air defence cover to Golden Temple, Major General Seshadri said.
In a pre-dawn attack on May 8, Pakistan launched a large-scale air assault using drones and long-range missiles which were intercepted and destroyed by the braveheart and alert army air defence gunners who.shot down all drones and missiles targeted at the Golden Temple, he said.
A defence ministry statement had earlier confirmed Pakistan targeted military bases and cities including Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar, Pathankot, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Bhuj.
Tired of enduring endless terror attacks by Pakistan sponsored terrorists, India embarked on a mission Operation Sindoor to eliminate nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir after a terror strike killed 26 civilians on April 22 in Pahalgam shook the entire country.
