Kochi: In a grave allegation, a Sabarimala pilgrim from Karnataka has accused a policeman of thrashing him while scaling the 18 holy steps to reach the sanctum sanctorum of the hill shrine, media reports said.
S Rajesh (30) of Bengaluru has filed a complaint in this regard alleging that he was bashed five times on his back by the policeman when he was climbing the steps with a 6-year-old boy between 4.30 pm and 5 pm on Sunday.
Rajesh, who was admitted to the Government Hospital at Sannidhanam, said that there were scars on his back.
Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan has sought details from Sabarimala Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Suraj Shaji.
