Chennai: Mega star Rajinikanth’s supporters suffered a serious blow today as the actor announced his decision to wind up his political activities in the state in future. He disbanded the ‘rajani makkal mandram’ maintaining the status quo of his fans’ outfit ‘Rajani Rasigar Manram’.
He said that there were no plans to start a party in future or remain active in politics. Rajinikanth almost made a plunge into politics but pulled out at the last minute a few months back. People were eagerly waiting for his entry for more than a decade.
His contemporary Hamal Hassan tried his luck in the state elections but failed miserably. Mr Hassan lost to national president of BJP women’s wing (Mahila Morcha) Vanathi Srinivasan in Coimbatore South segment. There are reports of health problems endured by Rajini and he had returned from US after treatment.
