Kochi: Sexual abuse accused director Ranjit was sent to police custody by a court until Monday,
Asianetnews reported.
Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate made the ruling while hearing the bail plea of Ranjit.
The prosecution opposed his bail plea on the ground that the Director had committed grave criminal offence.
Ranjit pleaded that his bail plea may be considered as his health condition was bad.
He claimed that he had problems in spine and had undergone liver transplant.
The police will be using his custody to gather evidence. According to the prosecution the actor tried to sexually abuse the young actor in a caravan on January 9 in Fort Kochi.
