Kochi: Actor – producer Vijay Babu of Malayalam film industry is reportedly making efforts to seek anticipatory bail in a rape case filed by a Kozhikode native on April 22.
Going incognito after making allegations against the complainant by disclosing her name, Vijay held parleys with some leading lawyers in this regard.
Besides rape case, another case has been slapped on him for disclosing the complaint’s name.
The accused had deleted the objectionable video and gone underground.
Owner of the ‘Friday Film House’, Vijay Babu is accused of raping the complainant a number of times by promising to offer her a role in films.
He has to his credit six productions and has been active for about a year.
Another actor Liju Krishna was arrested recently in a rape case.
The worst case happened when popular actor Dileep named 8th accused and was jailed for 85 days for allegedly plotting to abduct, assault and take videos of the victim on February 18, 2017.
He secured a bail from the High Court. Only a few months back the Crime Branch booked another case against him for allegedly conspiring to harm police who were behind sending him to jail. The crime branch has unearthed several shocking pieces of digital evidence against him.
