Kochi: Once a hardcore leftist, A P Abdullah Kutty is now a Modi fan and has welcomed
the Left government’s decision to study Gujarat model.
It is a positive change in the approach but it is not known what CPM leaders like Prakash Karat and others have to say about it, Abdullah Kutty, who was kicked out of the CPM for praising Modi as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2008, told an online Malayalam news portal.
A section of the leaders in the party still backs
hartals, strikes, nokkukooli wages paid to workers for their work done by machines, Abdullah Kutty who had won Lok Sabha elections twice as a Marxist candidate before his expulsion in 2008.
Mocking KSRTC MD for going to Netherlands to study tricks to save the KSRTC, Kutty said instead he should have gone to UP where the Yogi Adityanath government turned the Rs 153 crore loss making UPSRTC to a profitable institution.
After his expulsion from CPM, Kutty joined Congress and won the assembly election in 2009.
But Abdullah Kutty could not resist him from praising Modi and Amit Shah causing much embarrassment to the Congress which also shunted him out of the party.
Finally, he joined the saffron party and is now vice president of the party and chairman of the Haj Committee.
