Rohit quits test cricket

Kochi: India captain Rohit Sharma has decided to retire from test cricket, the cricketer announced on his Instagram post.
Rohit said he wanted to focus solely on playing in the ODI format.
Rohit had previously retired from the T20I format after the 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
Rohit expressed his pleasure over represent his country in Test cricket and thanked his fans for their support.
Rohit has made a total of 4,301 runs in 116 innings with an average of 40.57. He has to his credit 12 centuries and 18 fifties.
India will have to find a new skipper to lead the country in the upcoming five-match series against England in June-July.
During the 2024 season,
Rohit was not in form in 2024 as his average was only 10.93 in 15 innings in eight Test matches.
Rohit led in 24 Test matches out of which there were 12 victories and nine losses.
