Kochi: It is a boon for Kochiites to get sumptuous meals for Rs 10 in the heart of the city at Samrudhi@kochi under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission implemented by Kochi Corporation.
The eatery launched in 2021 is the favourite destination of the daily wagers as well as those in the higher income group.
It is just the cost, but the quality that makes it more attractive.
The Kudumbashree staff running the eatery are well behaved which makes it more attractive. It is an unlimited meal for Rs 10.
Parcel meals are available for Rs 20. A lot of people buy parcels from here.
There is more to it. Those who love non-vegetarians can have different delicacies for additional payment. Still, the rates are very cheap at the place located on the Paramara road near Ernakulam Town railway station.
The diners are required to wash their dishes clean and deposit it at the cleaning center where it is once again rinsed and cleaned.
The kitchen can serve around 500 at a time and it is always full. Some corporate bodies and private individuals have contributed money and materials to the hotel.
This is part of the Janakeeya hotel in the district where there are 106 Janakeeya hotels that provide lunch starting from Rs 20 per packet.
Samriddhi is a project taken up by the corporation with the support of corporate social responsibility funds of many organizations.
