Kochi: The Supreme Court will on April 7 start hearing cases related to the Apex Court’s 2018 verdict allowing menstruating women to enter Sabarimala temple in Kerala, media reports said.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice on Monday ruled thApril 7 at a new 9 member bench will hear pleas favouring and opposing the petitions.
Delivering the verdict, a three member bench led by the Chief Justice passed the orders constituting the new bench which is expected to conclude the hearing on April 22.
The court said the Special bench will be notified by the Chief Justice of India through an administrative order.
The parties supporting the review of the Sabarimala verdict will make arguments from April 7 to April 9 and those opposing the review will present their case from April 14-16.
The 3-judge bench gave the orders while dealing with the batch of review petitions and writ petitions pertaining to the Apex Court’s September 2018 judgment allowing menstruating women to enter the temple.
