Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing Sabarimala temple gold robbery case took evidence from Sabarimala chief priests Kandararu Rajeevaru and Kandararu Mohanaru.
They said they allowed the removal of the gold sheets abiding by the direction of Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) officials.
They emphasised that their role was limited to granting approval for matters considered appropriate under temple rituals.
The priests also said they were acquainted with Prime accused Unnikrishnan Potti.
They knew him because he had served as the junior priest at the Sabarimala Sannidhanam since 2008.
