Kochi: The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla among four-member Crew Dragon capsule blasted off to the International Space Station from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, media reports said.
The launch, which was aborted six times, got delayed due to a software glitch and was resolved at 12.01 pm, took place after the lifted off of the Falcon 9 rocket.
The Crew Dragon capsule is expected to reach the ISS after a flight of about 28 hours.
Shukla is the second astronaut from India going to Space. The first astronaut was Rakesh Sharma who flew in 1984 from the erstwhile Soviet Union.
