Kochi: The High Court of Kerala constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested former TDB member N Vijayakumar (CPM) in connection with the gold loot from Sabarimala temple in 2019 today, Deccan Herald reported.
Vijayakumar, who was a member of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) in 2019 when the looting took place.
Former president A Padmakumar, who was the TDP chief then, is in jail in the case related to the loss of gold.
During the tenure of the board, approval was given to hand over gold plates to the prime accused, Unnikrishnan Potty, for electroplating in 2019. Vijayakumar is the 10th accused to be arrested.
Constituted on the directions of the High Court, the SIT was given additional six months to complete the investigation.
