Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing Sabarimala temple gold robbery case has stumbled upon a case related to the death of accused Sudheesh Kumar’s first wife at Kottayam over three decades back, Manorama News reported.
The SIT has collected details of the case from Kottayam West police station in Kottayam.
The incident occurred when Sudheesh Kumar of CPM was working as a Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) staff at Parippu in Aymanam during 1988-89 in Kottayam.
The woman was found dead near a canal close to the rented house where they lived.
The matter became more controversial as two accused and a witness in the case were killed under mysterious circumstances. A police official and his son were linked to the case, the reports said.
Former Sabarimala executive officer Sudheesh Kumar was arrested by the SIT in the gold robbery case.
