SIT to report HC tomorrow

Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing gold robbery in the Sabarimala temple will file its report in Kerala High Court on Tuesday, media reports said.
A division bench of the High Court, which had set up the SIT, had set a six-week deadline for the SIT to complete its investigation.
The SIT is said to have gathered key information in connection with the case from one Unnikrishnan Potti, whom the Travancore Devaswom Board entrusted many gold cladded articles for refurbishment in violation of the rule book in 2019 and 2025.
Two different FIRs have been registered in connection with this.

Potti and officials of TDB are named in the FIRs as accused. The High Court has appointed retired Justice K T Sankaran as amicus curiae to monitor the preparation of inventory of valuables in the temple.
Justice Sankaran is expected to submit a preliminary inventory report during the same hearing.
Meanwhile, opposition parties accused the CPM -led left government of protecting the real culprits who are part of the temple administration.
The Opposition parties have demanded the resignation of Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan.
The Opposition demanded a probe by the CBI fearing the Left government would dilute the case.
