Kochi: Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) floated by former Congress Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will merge with the BJP on September 19 in Delhi.
He and a few MLAs will join the party in the presence of BJP president J P Nadda.
Singh had recently met the Prime minister and Home Minister.
Capt Singh had left the Congress late last year as per party’s direction. Capt Singh quit Congress after associating with it for about four decades.
He was made to resign to enable Charanjit Singh Channi to become Chief Minister of Punjab last year.
Before the assembly polls, he floated his party and contested in tie up with the BJP, but was thrashed by the Aam Aadmi Party decisively. Singh also lost the election.
His wife Preneey Kaur who was a Congress MP from Patiala was expelled by the Congress for anti party work.
