Kochi: Tamil Nadu has captured tusker Arikkomban which was transmigrated to the woods from human inhabited areas by Kerala a few days back, media reports said.
The tusker ventured into residential areas of Cumbum town in Tamil Nadu forcing Tamil Nadu to alert the forest department and vets.
After tracking the footsteps of Arikkomban, the authorities found it intruding into residential area at Poosanampatti in Theni
on Sunday night, the reports said.
The task force has taken the wild elephant to an undisclosed destination in Vellimallai. The operation was carried out without media glare. B
Arikomban was relocated from Idukki’s Chinnakanal to Periyar Tiger Reserve as per the direction of Kerala High Court.
