Kochi: Indian-originTushar Kumar has created history by becoming the youngest Mayor in the United Kingdom at the age of 23.
The appointment of Kumar as Mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood was confirmed during the council’s Mayor Making Ceremony held at Fairway Hall in Borehamwood on May 13, Times of India reported.
After studying Political Science at King’s College London he started as Deputy Mayor.
He was involved in local civic and community initiatives in Borehamwood.
Describing the appointment as “an incredible honour”, Kumar said he was grateful for the support he had received throughout his political journey.
Kumar expressed his gratitude to outgoing mayor Dan Ozarow for his guidance and support during his time as deputy Mayor.
