Kochi: The new Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab will immediately provide jobs to 25,000 people in the state.
The notification in this regard will be issued soon, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, according to media reports.
The government would appoint 15,000 people to the police and remaining aspirants in different boards and corporations, the reports said.
The decision was taken on the basis of promises made by the party at the hustings.
After bringing in revolutionary changes in governance in New Delhi, AAP was voted to power in the recent elections in Punjab.
The party won a total of 92 seats in the
117-member assembly.
AAP set examples by forming a ten-member ministry even as it had the freedom to have 18 ministers.
The new ministers were administered oath of office and secrecy by the Governor
Banwarilal Purohit at Raj Bhawan. All the new ministers took oath in Punjabi on Saturday.
