21 cases of Omicron detected

Kochi: Twenty one cases of Omicron have been confirmed in different places in the country.

Nine members of a family in Rajasthan were found infected with the virus. The infected had returned from South Africa via Dubai on November 25, media reports said.

Seven cases were reported in Maharashtra where six were in Chinchwad and one in Pune, the reports said.

Two cases were detected in Karnataka, one in Gujarat and one in Delhi. The government is holding a high level meeting in Delhi to discuss the issue of giving a booster dose, the reports said.

Meanwhile, Kerala health department blundered by failing to make the contact list of 21 people who came from Russia via Sharjah on November 28.

This is a violation of the Union Government’s advisory issued on November 26 to send those coming from risk countries to undergo RT-PCR test and one week home quarantine.
