Kochi: India thrashed visiting New Zealand by 372 runs in the second and final test at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai today.
R Ashwin took 4 for 34 while Jayanth Yadav took 4 for 49.
New Zealand started its second innings to chase a total of 540 to win the series, but failed miserably.
Except for D Michel, 60, and H Nicholas, 44, all others went down meekly before host spinners.
New Zealand were 140 for 5 when the match ended yesterday. They could add just 27 runs today.
India had missed a victory by a whisker in the Kanpur test as the host failed to take the tenth wicket.
Mayank Agarwal was man of the match while R Ashwin man of the series.
