Kochi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched raids at several locations in Kerala over alleged links with the banned Popular Front of India, media reports said.
Locations in Malappuram, Wayanad, Thrissur and Ernakulam are being raided to identify the financial transactions of the alleged PFI members amid reports on terror funding, the reports said.
Centres and residences of PFI members are being raided based on the report from NIA, the reports said.
ED officials supported by armed guards launched the raids in places including outlawed PFI state leader Latheef Pokkathillam’s house at Chavakkad in Thrissur district. Latheef has escaped to Saudi Arabia, the reports said.
PFI was outlawed for five years in September last year for its involvement in violent activities. Several leaders of the banned outfit were arrested in the nationwide operations.
