Kochi: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) taking a softer stand on the Sri Ram Temple at Ayodhya has shocked constituents of the Congress-led alliance in Kerala, media reports said.
Kerala unit president Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal’s remarks suggesting the Muslims to think about the future instead of focusing on the issue has created headacke for the party which has been out of power in the state for the last seven years, the reports said.
Thangal made the address at a public meeting in Malappuram on January 24 after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, the said.
A visual clip of the address has gone viral on social media on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the IUML senior leader P K Kunhalikutty said that Thangal’s remarks were a reaffirmation of its stand for tolerance and harmony.
