Kochi: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has asserted that it did received any corruption complaint against senior Kerala government official late K Naveen Babu.
This was disclosed in the report prepared by the Land Revenue Joint Commission, Asianet News reported.
Naveen Babu, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Kannur, was found dead at his official residence the next day after a CPM leader P P Divya branded Babu a corrupt official during his sent off party to which she came uninvited on October 14, 2024, at Kannur.
Without his name in the agenda, Divya interrupted the function and spoke against him by accusing him as a corrupt official.
There are criticisms against the Kannur Collector who did nothing to prevent Divya from making her speech.
A temporary staff member in Pariyaram Medical College, Kannur, Prashanthan, had accused Naveen Babu of demanding bribes for getting a No Objection Certificate for starting a petrol pump.
Divya had accused Naveen Babu based on the allegations of Prashanthan who is a CPM activist.
Naveen was found dead on October 15 in a suspicious manner the next day of the sent off party.
Police investigation has come in for severe criticism for not collecting sufficient evidence.
Meanwhile, Naveen Babus’s wife’s efforts to get the case investigated by the CBI was rejected by the Kerala High Court twice.
