Kochi: Tornadoes killed atleast 34 people in the US after gusts tore through several south-eastern states, flipping cars and flattening homes, media reports said.
Over 55 vehicles were involved in a crash due to a dust storm that tripped power supplies in over 250,000 homes in seven states like Michigan, Missouri and Illinois.
Tornado warning has been issued across eastern Louisiana, western Georgia, central Tennessee and the western Florida Panhandle.
In Kansas, at least eight people died after while six deaths were reported in Mississippi.
Multiple tornado warnings were also issued across Alabama on Saturday night. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of “multiple intense to violent long-track tornadoes”.
The meteorological agency suggested people to remain in sturdiest structure.
