Kochi: Controversial actor Shine Tom Chacko was arrested by Police on Saturday in connection with alleged drug use, media reports said.
Shine was booked under Sections 27 (consumption of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Shine will be subjected to a medical examination soon, the reports said.
The Police recorded Shine’s arrest under the NDPS Act with bailable charges.
The actor who took to heels from a hotel in Ernakulam during a raid conducted by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Task Force (Dansaf) a few days back appeared before the police on Saturday morning.
Police have collected his call data records and texting history. He was interrogated by a team led by Ernakulam central assistant commissioner C Jayakumar and Narcotic Cell assistant commissioner K A Abdul Salam.
