Kochi: A husband and wife were found murdered in their house at Thiruvathukkal in Kottayam on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Vijayakumar and his wife Meera.
Vijayakumar was the owner of Indraprastham Auditorium and Tourist Home in Kottayam.
The domestic help first saw the bodies lying in a pool of blood and alerted neighbours and the police.
Their faces were in a mutilated condition.
A machete was found behind the house.
People in the area said that a migrant worker from Assam, who was employed by Vijayakumar, was recently sent away. He is being questioned by police.
The migrant worker was once arrested in mobile phone theft case.
Their son had also died under mysterious circumstances some years back.
Police are examining CCTV footage and gathering information from neighbors and relatives.
