Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the India-US trade deal as a “big decision” benefiting everyone in the country, Times of India reported.
The BJP-led government always works for the benefit of the nation, Modu said at the meeting of the NDA Parliamentary Party.
NDA partners greeted Modi for the trade deals with the US and EU inked a few days back.
They said it will strengthen Indian manufacturers, exporters and entrepreneurs.
India and the US have agreed to a trade deal under which Washington will bring down the reciprocal tariff on Indian goods to 18 per cent from a total 50 per cent.
It was raised to 50 per cent in August last year to persuade India to stop buying oil from Russia, who the US said was using the oil money to fight against Ukraine.
After talking to Modi yesterday, Trump claimed India would stop oil deal with Russia which said it has not heard anything from New Delhi on India stopping oil purchase from Moscow.
