Kochi: Tourism sector has got a major sop from the government which has done away with the requirement of NoC for starting a home stay in Kerala.
The NoC from the local bodies was essential for getting classification of home stays by the tourism department.
It was the long pending demand of the industry to do away with the condition of submitting NoC.
The Tourism Minister P A Mohammad Riyas said this decision would help to attract more investment in the sector.
The government decision is expected to boost tourism in the state. It would not only help to solve the shortage of accomodation, but it would also provide more opportunities for the
people to earn a livelihood of the people who live near the tourist centres, he said in a Facebook post.
