Kochi: A Thiruvananthapuram court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the KSRTC workers who allegedly bashed a person who went to renew his daughter’s concession ticket. Rejecting the plea of the five accused, the Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court said it would send a wrong message across the society.
The prosecution argued that the accused who beat up a person in front of his daughter did not deserve anticipatory bail. The prosecution also appealed to release the accused in police custody for further investigation. The five accused are members of different trade unions. The incident occurred on September 20 when the victim Preman, an employee of Poovachal panchayat, was thrashed in Kattakada KSRTC depot to renew the bus pass of his daughter. All the accused, who went underground after the incident, would have to surrender before the police.
