Kochi: Passengers and crew of Jeddah-Kozhikode Air India Express escaped providentially as the aircraft made emergency landing due to a mid air snag at Cochin International Airport on Thursday.
The after aircraft’s two tyres burst forcing the pilots to make the emergency landing with 160 passengers and crew.
There was a technical issue involving its landing gear and tyre failure, officials said
The Air India Express flight IX 398 was diverted to Kochi after the snag was detected in the right main landing gear. The aircraft landed safely at 9.07 am under full emergency conditions.
