Kochi: Neyyattinkara Bishop has denied allegations that he tried to help actor Dileep secure a bail in the actor abuse case of 2017.
Dileep had accused director Balachandra Kumar of swindling Rs 10 lakh from him in the name of seeking the help of the bishop in getting him a bail.
The Bishop Vincent Samuel made this confession before the crime branch at Kottayam. However, the Bishop admitted that he knew Balachandra Kumar who had made several revelations against Dileep and had submitted a lot of digital evidence against the actor.
Dileep is an accused in actor assault case and a case related to harming police officials who had probed the first case. Dileep was sent to 85 days in prison.
