Court rejects Dileep’s plea

Kochi: In a blow to actor Dileep, the Kerala High Court refused to stay the probe into the conspiracy case pertaining to harm to police officials who probed the actor assault case of 2017.

The court said it cannot intervene in the case at this stage of the probe and the case needs to be heard elaborately.

The court allowed the police to continue with the investigation.
Sidharth Agarwal of the Supreme Court had appeared for Dileep.

The prosecution argued that Dileep and other accused had destroyed the evidence from their phones and they submitted the proof to support their claims.

Dismissing police claims, Dileep said that the deleted data were confidential matters and
had no connection with the case.

The court posted the case for further hearing on March 28.
The case came up after Dileep’s friend and film director Balachandra Kumar accused Dileep of conspiring to harm police officials who probed the actor assault case of 2017 in which Dileep was jailed for about 85 days.

Kumar had submitted to the police evidence to prove his case.
