High Court rejects Dileep’s plea

Kochi: Actor Dileep suffered a serious blow as
Kerala High Court on Tuesday rejected his plea to quash the conspiracy case to harm the police officials who probed the actor abduction case of February 17, 2017.

The court also rejected Dileep’s plea to hand over the case to the CBI.
The crime branch had booked Dileep and some others after director Balachandra Kumar alleged that he was a witness to Dileep conspiring to harm police officials a few months back.

Kumar also claimed to have seen Dileep watching the objectionable video of the abducted actor.

Fresh cases were registered against Dileep and others by the crime branch after this.
The Crime Branch is also conducting further
investigation in the actor assault case as the investigation officers had recovered a lot of evidence against Dileep and his actor wife Kavya Madhavan during the investigation of the conspiracy case.

The digital data against them was recovered from the mobile phones used by Dileep and others.

The crime branch had earlier sought cancellation of Dileep’s bail accusing him of violating bail conditions like making 20 witnesses hostile.

Dileep, who was sent for about 86 days in jail in connection with the actor assault case in 2017, was released from jail after the High Court granted him conditional bail.

Based on the investigation conducted by the crime branch in the conspiracy case, the Crime Branch is seeking cancellation of Dileep’s bail for violating bail conditions by influencing the 20 witnesses.
