Kochi: Former Government Chief Whip P C George today secured bail in a hate speech case made at Ananthapuri Hindu Mahasammelanam at Thiruvananthapuram on April 29.
The JFCM court at Vanchiyoor, which was conducted in the magistrate’s House, directed George against influencing witnesses and making hate speeches.
Police had sought police custody claiming that giving bail at this juncture may affect the case as George was a popular leader and could influence the witnesses.
George was arrested on the basis of complaints lodged by those including the youth league.
George made the speech against a particular community at Ananthapuri Hindu Mahasammelanam at Thiruvananthapuram on April 29.
