Kochi: Amidst infighting flaring up in CPM in Kollam, a CPM leader Bipin C Babu quit the party in Alappuzha to join BJP on Saturday, media reports said.
Describing the situation in CPM as disturbing, Babu, who is the member of the Kayamkulam CPM Area Committee, was welcomed into the BJP at an organizational meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.
Babu has held many positions like District Secretary of SFI and District President of DYFI.
Babu said he joined BJP impressed by its performance in developing the country.
He said more people from CPM will quit CPM to join BJP soon.
Babu hailed the Prime Minister for the tremendous growth carried out in the country under his leadership.
BJP state president K Surendran said that here CPM was in trouble in Alapppuzha where even senior CPM leader G Sidhakaran was unhapppy. Surendran said more CPM leaders will join BJP soon.
Babu was welcomed into the party by, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugg, State president K Surendran, Shobha Surendran among others.
