Kochi: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) national chairman and state president Panakkad Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, 74, died at a private hospital in Angamali today.
He was undergoing treatment for cancer for about a year.
He was the President of the Darul Huda Islamic Academy and Vice President of the Sunni Muslim organisation Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama.
He did his Post Graduation in Arabic and Islamic Shariah.
He was elected as the successor to Panakkad Sayeed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal as the Kerala State President of Indian Union Muslim League in 2009.
