Kochi: In a major peace move in West Asia, Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase Gaza ceasefire deal, US President Donald Trump said, BBC said.
According to the deal, Hamas would release Israeli hostages and Tel Aviv Palestinian prisoners. Withdrawal of Israeli forces from parts of Gaza and entry of international aid are part of the deal.
With the Israel government meeting to formally approve the deal soon.
The US said all the remaining Israeli hostages would be released on Monday.
Hamas has confirmed the deal. People in Gaza and hostage families in Israel were celebrating the agreement which was negotiated in Egypt.
