Kochi: The Crime Branch, probing actor abuse case, has summoned former MLA P C George’s son Shaun George to appear before it on Tuesday morning at Kottayam Crime Branch office in connection with a fake whatsapp group of.
The police have reportedly seized a screenshot sent by Shaun to accused actor Dileep’s brother, media reports said.
Shaun, who is a member of the Kottayam District panchayat, had denied the charges.
He said that he had lost one phone in 2019 and had reported the matter with the Kottayam Superintendent of Police then.
Last week the Crime Branch conducted a raid in the house of Shaun George in Poonjar in connection with the actor assault case of 2017 in which actor Dileep is an accused.
The raid was held to collect details of the WhatsApp messages shared between Shaun and Dileep’s brother, media reports said.
Shaun had met Dileep when the actor was in jail in connection with the case in 2017.
The crime branch is believed to have seized fake WhatsApp profiles of actori and Dileep’s ex wife Manju Warrier and DGP B Sandhya who headed the probe initially.
The Crime Branch is believed to be suspecting that the group was formed to prove that a conspiracy was hatched against Dileep who is an accused in the case in which a popular actress was abducted and abused in a vehicle on February 17, 2017. Dileep was arrested in 2017 and released on bail.
