Kochi: India and the US had to reach a common ground on the US Tariff issue, Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu has said.
Talking to reporters, he quipped that he would “privately” offer PM Modi some advice on handling Trump.
Both are friends of mine. There is a basic understanding in the relationship between India and the US. The basis of the relationship is very solid. It will be in the interest of India and the US to arrive at a common ground and resolve the tariff issue.
“Such a resolution will be good for Israel as well as both the countries are our friends,” he added.
He claimed that Israeli weapons were used in Operation Sindoor and said that “all of them worked well.”
He also offered to help India boost its “surveillance” system to tackle cross-border terrorism.
Netanyahu said he would like to visit India “soon”. Israel was keen to establish direct flights between Tel Aviv and Bengaluru to cut travel time to just six hours.
The military equipment supplied to India had performed effectively during Operation Sindoor, he said adding that defence cooperation between the two nations was on a strong upward trajectory.
“India is a huge country and it is not easy to have surveillance all over. We are ready to help India in air surveillance systems. Besides intelligence, we need the physical capability to get to the terrorists before they strike.”
“You always have to be ahead of the curve, you don’t allow them to break you, you have to act before what is likely to come and being hatched by them,” he added.
